CLOSURE: Unique chain restaurant closes in Mississauga

A popular franchise serving plant-based food and healthy drinks has closed in Mississauga.
Fresh Kitchen and Juice Bar located at 5031 Hurontario St shut down its operations on Dec. 13.
Established in 1991, the restaurant originated as a juice bar on Queen West in Toronto. Today, it has expanded to include a diverse menu, emphasizing that all items are created daily in-house from original recipes using whole, natural ingredients.
At breakfast, patrons can enjoy dishes like almond butter french toast, smashed avocado on toast, or the yogurt and granola bowl.
Lunch and dinner food options include burgers, wraps, salads, tacos, fires and bowls like the “Powerhouse” consisting of avocado, chickpeas, tofu steaks, salad greens, microgreens, toasted mixed nuts, tomato, scallions, powerhouse sauce and lemon.
A crowd favourite is the vegan BBQ ranch burger which comes with smoked provolone cheese, quinoa, BBQ sauce, ranch, avocado, tomato, heritage blend lettuce, and onion rings squished between a grain burger.

The freshly-squeezed juices are made to order. One of the most popular blends called Green 2.0. consists of kale, spinach, parsley, celery, lemon, apple, ginger and cayenne.
The menu also features power shakes, such as the “Galaxy” which includes passionfruit, mango, oat milk, banana, orange, and lemon. There are also options of homemade sparkling lemonade or fresh ginger ale.
After its closure, the restaurant didn’t notify customers through their main website, but posted a message on the stories tab on their Facebook page.
The reason for the closure is also unknown. However, Google indicates that the Mississauga location is permanently closed, and any attempts to contact the phone number results in a recording stating that the number has been disconnected.
The status of the Mississauga location remains uncertain, with no confirmation of whether it is temporarily closed and relocating within the city.
Currently, Fresh Kitchen and Juice Bar has various locations across the GTA including Oakville and Etobicoke.
