Update: A 24-year-old driver from Oshawa was seriously injured in a crash in Toronto early Monday morning, the Ontario Provincial Police said on X.
The driver drifted onto the shoulder and struck the guide rail and was subsequently redirected to the opposite side guide rail before coming to rest, the OPP said.
All lanes reopened at 8:45 a.m., the OPP said in another update.
The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending.

One person has suffered life-threatening injuries after a crash in Toronto early Monday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the single-vehicle collision on the Highway 427 northbound ramp to Highway 401 eastbound, the Ontario Provincial Police said on X.
One person has sustained life-threatening injuries, the OPP said.
The crash occurred around 1:50 a.m., according to the Ministry of Transportation 511 page.

The on-scene investigation is underway, and the ramp is expected to remain closed until the afternoon, police said.
Police asked drivers to use alternate routes.
