City of Mississauga hiring for 70 positions and you could make $75,000

Residents interested in a transit operator job could find themselves making a pretty good salary in Mississauga.

According to a recent job listing posted by the city, MiWay is looking to hire new transit operators who are able to operate MiWay vehicles while adhering to the schedule and rules of the road, and navigating weather and traffic conditions.

70 transit operator positions are currently available.

The full-time, permanent position promises a competitive wage (an hourly rate ranging from $22.04 to $36.73) and benefits package with pension (OMERS Retirement Savings plan).

Other duties involved in the job include providing customer service to passengers by providing information about routes, directions and fares, monitoring fare payments, and performing safety inspections of the bus.

Drivers who only have a G licence are encouraged to apply anyway, as MiWay says it offers a five-week comprehensive training program for all new hires.
