The City of Burlington is reminding residents to stay off the ice at LaSalle Marina.

The City’s LaSalle Park Community Marina is a location for residents and tourists to launch their boats and enjoy the waters of Lake Ontario and Burlington’s lakefront views.

While it is a great place to visit during warmer months, the marina can be dangerous during the winter.

According to the City, underwater bubblers are used to prevent ice from forming which results in thinner ice in and around the marina.

As a result of the thinner ice, it will not support people or pets, which is why the City has issued a reminder.

“Ice at LaSalle Marina is dangerous. Underwater bubblers are used to prevent ice from forming and results in thinner ice in and around the marina,” said the City of Burlington on Twitter.

“Pets and people need to stay off the ice. Any ice near the marina will be thin and will not support pets or people.”
