The City of Brampton is considering widening Eastern Avenue and extending Clark Boulevard.

As part of the City’s Transportation Master Plan, it is conducting a study regarding Eastern and Clark specifically related to improving traffic flow.

The study is intended to examine the feasibility and necessity of extending Clark into a four-lane road, and widening Eastern from a two- to a four-lane road.

According to the project details, Clark would extend from Rutherford Road to Hansen Road (where Eastern starts) as a four-lane road, while two lanes would be added to Eastern from Hanson Road South to Kennedy Road.

The study will evaluate the current and future transportation capacity needs, identify possible improvements to accommodate the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, transit and motorists within the project limits, including safety improvements.

It will also examine the impacts to the social, cultural and natural environment as well as identify possible mitigation measures.

Additionally, as part of the study, the City is encouraging residents provide feedback on the possible changes, which can be submitted online until November 5.
