Charges Laid After Brampton Man Breaks into Residence with Loaded Handgun

Police have arrested and charged a 32 year old Brampton man following a break-in early Saturday morning.
Police have arrested and charged a 32 year old Brampton man following a break-in early Saturday morning.
Around 6:00 a.m., police say the suspect, armed with a handgun, attended a residence in the area of Torbram Road and Queen Street.
The residence belongs to a woman he used to be in a relationship with, according to police.
When she denied him entry, the suspect forced his way inside through another door.
“An interaction occurred inside the residence at which time the man pointed a firearm at the victim,” police said. “The victim was able to flee to another part of the house and called 9-1-1.”
Officers located and arrested the suspect. They additionally located a loaded .40 caliber handgun on his person, police report.
The suspect has been charged with Break and Enter, Point Firearm, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
He appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing the same day.
