“It’s just like Art Crawl, but for authors!”

Did you know that there is a monthly event along a very popular Hamilton street that celebrates local literary arts?

The Greater Hamilton Writer’s Association (GHWA) has introduced the Hamilton Book Crawl, modelled on the tremendously popular Art Crawl on James Street North.

The Hamilton Book Crawl takes place every third Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. along Concession Street and invites lovers of the written word to come and explore the local literary scene and meet those who are its contributors.

Hamilton’s authors write in a number of genres and forms including horror, fantasy, science fiction, memoirs, dark romance, children’s books, poetry, short stories and so much more.

“Visitors are encouraged to chat with the authors, buy their books, and don’t be shy about asking for autographs,” organizers of the event said on the GHWA website.

“ Concession St. BIA has been so supportive of our little initiative and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

Not only are the Book Crawls a way for residents to connect with local authors and their works, but it gives visitors an opportunity to explore Concession Street, one of Hamilton’s most exciting avenues, and shop and eat local.

The June 2022 edition of the Hamilton Book Crawl is being held this Saturday (June 18).

In the meantime, the GHWA is encouraging more local writers to connect with them if they would like to be one of the featured authors in any upcoming Bool Crawls.
