A Mississauga firefighter has sustained minor injuries following a blaze at a residential home on Terragar Blvd.

Around 3:00 p.m., Peel police announced that officers and Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services were on scene at a house fire. A firefigher sustained minor injuries on scene and was assisted by fellow firefighters who walked him over to awaiting paramedics so he could be transported to hospital.

Two other people were seen being treated on scene for minor injuries by Peel Paramedics.

A pet was also rescued, as emergency crews were spotted carrying an animal cage out of the home.

Flames caused extensive damage to the home. Fire crews were seen extinguishing the fire with a water canon and entering the house to manage the fire from within.

Emergency crews are still on scene.

Please continue to avoid the Derry and Terragar Blvd. area.
