A jerk chicken take-out restaurant will soon open its second Mississauga location.

Top Jerk, which has been operating in Streetsville for over a year, will soon appear at Clarkson Crossing Plaza at Southdown Road and Royal Windsor Drive.

Top Jerk offers Caribbean dishes with authentic flavour, according to the website.

“Here, every dish tells a story, from the fiery jerk seasoning that dances on the palate to the sweet, soothing relief of our tropical beverages. It’s not just a meal; it’s an immersive island experience, a short trip to the heart of Jamaica’s rich culinary landscape. At Top Jerk, we’re not just serving food; we’re serving tradition, passion, and a warm island welcome. Join us to turn any meal into a festive celebration of zest and zing that only true Caribbean jerk can deliver,” the description the restaurant provides about itself through its website.

The menu includes Caribbean favourites such as jerk chicken, oxtail and curried goat plus some twists including a jerk chicken poutine⁣ and a fried chicken sandwich.

Patties and jerk fries are also on the menu.

The plaza has hosted Caribbean-themed take-out restaurants in the past. Mckoy’s Caribbean Fusion closed in 2022 and more recently SunRise Caribbean Restaurant. Top Jerk appears to be setting up in the same spot at the previous restaurants.

The plaza is going through somewhat of an overhaul with new businesses opening.

Stacked Pancake House has announced that it is opening this month at Clarkson Crossing.

As well, a large Winners and HomeSense are also being built on the site which is expected to launch later this year.
