Blue Rodeo is coming to the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino Resort on Oct. 6 and tickets are still available.

Beloved Canadian country-rock legends Blue Rodeo are coming to the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino Resort for a Friday night gig on October 6 and a handful of tickets are still available.

First formed in 1984 by high school buddies Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, the band’s lead vocalists, they are just a year shy of their 40th anniversary.

While the band never really caught fire in the United States, the Toronto-based ensemble has fused together county, folk, and rock influences with their distinctive pop sensibility to establish themselves as one of the most popular bands here in Canada, becoming radio staples coast-to-coast.

Cuddy and Keelor remain the group’s mainstays as the guitarists and lyricists while the bass, keyboard and drum positions have changed more than a few times.

That said, they have cranked out Canadian classics since the beginning, including hits such as Heart Like Mine, Try, Diamond Mine, Love and Understanding, and Til I Am Myself Again.

Fun Fact: In August 1988, the band played the Erie County Fair in Hamburg, a suburb of Buffalo. They were the headliners after a high school battle of the bands competition. The disastrous gig was the inspiration for their 1990 hit, What Am I Doing Here.

For ticket information, check HERE. Below, Cuddy and Keelor explain the roots of the song Try just before performing it.
