Canada’s largest airline is connecting more people than ever to new destinations.
According to a release from Air Canada, the airline is launching a codesharing agreement with ITA Airways, Italy’s flagship airline.
Representatives indicated that this new incentive will allow those on Air Canada flights to Rome-Fiumicino to connect to 10 destinations across select countries, including Italy, Africa, and Albania.
Select cities include, but are not limited to, Palermo, Catania, and Florence in Italy, as well as Cairo, Tunis, and Algiers in Africa.
This incentive also swings both ways, as those crossing the Atlantic on ITA flights through Pearson International airport will be able to connect through the Mississauga hub to 10 cities across the U.S. and Canada.
North American locations include, but are not limited to, Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary in Canada, and Boston, Orlando, and Dallas in the U.S.

“This partnership improves connectivity for our passengers traveling between Italy and North America, our first market beyond Italy, serving both leisure and business travelers. Moreover, it enables us to offer seamless connections for passengers of Italian origin residing in Canada and the United States, facilitating their journeys to Italy and beyond,” said Joerg Eberhart, CEO of ITA Airways, in an official statement.
This partnership also marks the integration of ITA Airways into the Star Alliance, a global network of airlines of which Air Canada is a founding member.
“With work underway to facilitate ITA Airways’ entry into Star Alliance, we are developing significant partnership synergies. This will form the foundation for a strong, long-term relationship between our two flag-carrying airlines,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President for Cargo with Air Canada, in an official statement.
Air Canada has stated that codeshare ticket options are on sale as of today (July 14), with travel dates starting on July 21, 2025.
