Caledon OPP lay child pornography charges against Vaughan man

The search of a Caledon home last summer has led police to a lay four child pornography charges against a Vaughan man.

On July 28, 2021, police say they executed a search warrant at a residence in Caledon and seized several electronic devices from the home.

After child sexual exploitation investigation, members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Digital Forensics Unit and Caledon OPP have arrested and charged 42-year-old William Torres with:

  • Two counts of Possessing child pornography
  • Accessing child pornography
  • Make available child pornography
  • Fail to comply with probation order, as per section 733.1(1)
  • Fail to comply with prohibition order, as per section 161(4)

“The importance of protecting our children, cannot be understated. I encourage all members of the community to educate themselves on the dangers children can face online” said Detective Superintendent Tina Chalk of the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Services.
