Concept for new long-term care facility and retirement home

A proposed long-term care facility just east of Walker’s Line, north of Dundas St., will be the topic of an upcoming public meeting.

Better Life Retirement Residence Inc. has made an application to amend the Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw for the lands located at 4103 Palladium Way.

The developers want to build a five-storey building with 256 beds and a six-storey retirement home building with 115 units, both fronting onto Palladium Way. The land is currently designated as Business Corridor.

The development proposes 238 vehicle parking spaces including six accessible parking spaces, eight bicycle parking spaces and two loading spaces.

The public meeting will use a hybrid model, allowing members of council, staff and the public to participate remotely or in-person at Burlington City Hall.

The meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 9:30 a.m.

For more information on the development, visit the City’s Development Project webpage.

A Community Planning Department staff report, which provides a recommendation by staff for approval of the application, a description of the application, updates on the technical and public comments received to date, will be available for public review on Friday, Sept. 9.
