Burlington residents can have their say on projected 5.9 per cent tax increase

Burlington residents will have their chance to provide input on the 2023 City budget at a virtual meeting this week.

Mayor Marianne Meed Ward will host the 2023 Budget Town Hall on Thursday, Jan. 19, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

This year’s budget is calling for a 5.9 per cent increase in the city portion of the municipal tax bill and a total projected increase of 7.08 per cent, including the regional and education increases.

Residents can also register to speak directly to council at the Feb. 6 meeting of the Corporate Services, Strategy, Risk and Accountability Committee, where the proposed budget will be reviewed, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
