Burlington’s Renata Fast and Emma Maltais along with Oakville’s Brianne Jenner will be leading Team Canada against arch-rival United States in the gold medal women’s hockey game at the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games.

Fast, 27, Jenner, 30 and Maltais, 22, each scored once to help Canada cruise to a 10-3 romp of Switzerland in Monday’s semifinal.

The Americans defeated Finland 4-1 and will now meet Canada in the women’s final on Wednesday at 11 p.m. ET.

The two women’s hockey powerhouses have met in five out of the last six Olympic gold-medal games. The Americans ended Canada’s 24-game Olympic win streak with a 3-2 shootout win at the 2018 Games in Pyeonchang.

Captain Marie-Philip Poulin scored twice to lead the Canadian attack against Switzerland. Erin Ambrose, Blayre Turnbull, Claire Thompson, Jamie Lee Rattray and Emily Clark had the other goals for Canada.

Sarah Nurse added four assists and Rebecca Johnstone had three helpers.

Canada, which outshot Switzerland 61-13, have already scored an Olympic record 54 goals in the Games.

Canada had won four-straight Olympic gold medals before losing to the Americans in PyeongChang.
