School bus carrying 27 kids involved in Burlington highway collision with tow truck

A collision between a school bus carrying 27 children and a tow truck hauling a transit bus on Thursday afternoon is causing major delays on Highway 403.
There have been no reports of any serious injuries in the collision that has resulted in all lanes on eastbound Highway 403 and Waterdown Rd. being blocked.
“The collision involves a school bus with kids and children on this bus,” said Ontario Provincial Police Sergeant Kerry Schmidt. “There are 27 passengers on that bus in a collision with a tow truck that was hauling a transit bus. There were no reports of any injuries.
“There was nobody inside the GO Transit bus that was being towed. The 403 and Waterdown Rd. all lanes are blocked right now with the vehicles in the area.

Schmidt said the investigation is ongoing.
“We are working on getting those vehicles removed, but right now there will be heavy delays in that area on both sides of the highway as a result of the distraction and the closures because of the vehicles,” he said.
