A Brampton woman faces kidnapping charges in the Elnaz Hajtamiri abduction case.

On Jan. 12, 2022, Hajtamiri was allegedly abducted by three people dressed in police gear, but not actual uniforms, from a relative’s house on Trailwood Place in Wasaga Beach, OPP said.

Hajtamiri hasn’t been found and it is not clear if she is still alive.

On Feb. 16, the OPP released photos of three suspects and a person of interest in connection with the kidnapping.

And today (March 17), OPP announced they made an arrest on March 16 with the help of the public.

Krystal P. Lawrence, 30, from Brampton, was charged with kidnapping. She was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on May 2, 2023.

Further, police have an arrest warrant for Deshawn Davis, 35, of Toronto in connection with the case. Also, the OPP continues to look for another man in the previously published photos. Police believe this man lives in the Greater Toronto Area.

A police photo below shows Deshawn Davis, left, and the unidentified suspect on the right.

Anyone with information about these individuals’ whereabouts is asked to contact the OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122 or through the dedicated tip line at 1-833-728-3415.

Police are still looking to identify one, or potentially two, individuals of interest who rented vehicles in December 2021. They are not suspects in the kidnapping, but police would like to speak with them as they may have information related to this case.

The photos are below.

A $100,000 joint OPP and York Regional Police reward is available for anyone with information that will lead to Hajtamiri’s whereabouts.

Hajtamiri stands approximately 160 cm (five-feet-three inches) tall. She is of slim build and had shoulder-length black hair until it had been cut to a shorter length before she was abducted.

In the earlier incident, Hajtamiri was assaulted with a frying pan in an underground parking lot in Richmond Hill in December 2021.

Hajtamiri’s ex-boyfriend, Mohamad Lilo was arrested in July and faces charges connected to the abduction and this earlier assault and attempted kidnapping.

Police also charged Riyasat Singh from Mississauga, and Harshdeep Binner from Brampton with attempted murder, attempted kidnapping and other offences in connection with the earlier attack on Hajtamiri in Richmond Hill on Dec. 20, 2021.

Anyone with information on this case should contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or through the dedicated tip line at 1-833-728-3415.
