Brampton woman dead after being struck by falling tree

A Brampton woman in her 70’s has died after being struck by a falling tree during the storm today (May 21).
Police say the woman was walking in the area of Belmont Drive and Birchbank Road in Brampton during the storm when a large tree struck her.
The woman was transported to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The identify of the woman has not been released awaiting notification of next-of-kin.
No roads were closed as a result of the incident.
