Brampton school in hold and secure due to nearby stabbing

Police received a call at 1:54 pm in regard to a stabbing in Brampton.
Police say the incident occurred in the area of Hansen Rd N and Lauderdale Rd.

The victim was located with a possible stab wound, according to police.
Central Peel Secondary School has been placed in a hold and secure as a result. No students are present, police say.
There is a large police presence in the area.
Police say the victim was transported to a local hospital and there are currently no updates on their condition.
UPDATE: Police say the incident did not occur on school property and that the victim is currently at a trauma centre in stable condition.
Police say the culprit(s) are still outstanding and there is still a heavy police presence in the area.
The victim is a 16-year-old male youth, according to police.
