Brampton outdoor skating rink closes due to poor ice conditions, others may follow

Earnscliffe Park Outdoor Skating Rink in Brampton has closed due to poor ice conditions and City officials warn that other rinks may soon follow suit.
The above-zero temperatures that have blanketed Brampton, Mississauga and the rest of the GTA the past several days are not conducive to good ice conditions.
City of Brampton officials took to social media earlier this afternoon (Jan. 2) to alert residents to the possibility that other outdoor rinks may close as well.
“Outdoor rinks across Brampton may temporarily close due to weather or unforeseen maintenance requirements,” officials said on a post to Twitter. “Please check rink status prior to your visit.”
While City of Mississauga officials have not issued a similar notice to residents, people are urged to check the status of outdoor rinks before heading to the facilities.
