Brampton man wanted for murder after woman found dead

A Brampton woman is dead and police are asking the public for help with the hunt for her suspected killer.

Just before 6:00 a.m. on Friday (June 17), Peel Regional Police say officers were called to a home near Aloma Cres. and Avondale Blvd. for a report of a disturbance.

When officers arrived on the scene, police say they located a deceased adult woman inside the residence with obvious signs of trauma.

Investigators have identified Linval Alfonso Ritchie, a 29-year-old man from Brampton who was in an intimate partner relationship with the victim as a suspect and say Ritchie is now wanted for murder.

Ritchie is known to be associated with two vehicles:

  • 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer 4 door red, bearing Ontario Licence CMLT 713
  • 2006 Audi NAQ 4 Door grey, bearing Ontario Licence CLJJ 458

Investigators continue to search for Linval Ritchie and encourage him to seek legal counsel and turn himself in.

Residents are being asked to avoid the area as the investigation continues, and police say they believe the killing to be an isolated incident.
