A Brampton man faces charges after a drive-through window was shattered by a BB gun this summer.

A man allegedly went to a restaurant in the Dixie Road and Mayfield Road area in Brampton and shot a BB gun shattering the drive through window on June 24, Peel Regional Police said in a press release.

After a lengthy investigation police identified a suspect and searched a Brampton home. Police seized two BB guns and BBs (metallic spherical projectiles) on Nov. 8.

Jaskarandeep Garcha, 20, of Brampton is charged with:

  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Garcha is scheduled to appear in Brampton court on Jan. 12.

Police remind the public that although BB guns are legal to possess, great care should be used when using them.

It is difficult to tell the difference between a real firearm and a BB gun.
