Brampton man charged with human-trafficking crimes

Police in Toronto have arrested a Brampton man and charged him with various human-trafficking crimes.

Toronto Police say an investigation that took place during the spring and summer months of this year looked into two separate incidents of human-trafficking.

As a result, Marlon Downey, 26, of Brampton has been charged with trafficking in persons by recruiting, transporting and harbouring.

Additionally, he has been charged with assault, uttering a threat of bodily harm, possession of cocaine and fentynal, and theft over $5,000.

Police suspect there may be other victims and are asking them to come forward.
