Brampton Man Charged in Gunpoint Gang Sexual Assault in York University Area

A Brampton man recently turned himself into Toronto police following a gunpoint gang sexual assault that occurred near York University in late February.

According to Toronto police, officers have been searching for two suspects since a 24-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted by two men in the Finch Ave. W. and Sentinel Road area in Toronto on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2:15 a.m. Police report that at least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun.

On Feb. 28, one suspect, 23-year-old Toronto man Niam Camsell, was arrested in connection with the incident.

The second man remained outstanding.

Now, police have announced that they arrested 25-year-old Brampton man Brandon Dwyer on March 6. He turned himself into police.

Dwyer has been charged with 10 offenses, including forcible confinement, sexual assault, gang sexual assault with a weapon, using a firearm, sexual assault with a weapon and more.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, March 14.
