Brampton is now home to the GTA’s first IHOP location after a grand opening earlier this week.

The pancake house franchise officially opened its doors at 50 Biscayne Cres. in Brampton on Tuesday (June 7) with a ribbon cutting event.

A portion of the day’s sales were donated to help purchase equipment for the paediatric ward at the William Osler Health System’s Brampton Civic Hospital.

The new Brampton location is the franchise’s first foray into the Greater Toronto Area but the restaurant chain already has multiple locations in western Canada and Ontario, including two in Niagara Falls.

Pancakes and early morning options might be the IHOP go-to with 65 different breakfast items, but the menu also features lunch, dinner and late night options including Ultimate Steakburgers.

“IHOP is a strong brand with a huge fan base around the world, and we are excited to expand its presence in Canada,” franchisee Minhas Saeed Minhas said in a statement. “We can’t wait for guests to experience the brand’s warm hospitality and commitment to quality in its breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu offerings.”

Members of Brampton City Council including Coun. Martin Medeiros and Mayor Patrick Brown attended Tuesday’s ribbon cutting event.
