Brampton’s firefighters have swiftly knocked down a blaze in the city, but still advise motorist to avoid the area.

Peel Police announced the fire was burning at Somerset Dr and Fanshawe Dr around 8:40, almost a half hour after 911 received the call.

Minutes later, at 8:48, Brampton Fire and Emergency Services announced they had extinguished the flame. However, crews remain on scene for fire watch to ensure the fire does not reignite.

Crews are also still in the midst of clearing smoke and performing “overhaul.” Therefore they advise drivers to stay away from the area.
