Locally-grown businesses are at the heart of an entrepreneurial drive, and one Brampton businesswoman has made it to broadcast television for her innovation.

Last night (Feb. 28), Chantal Carter Taylor appeared on the hit-television show to showcase her company Love & Nudes.

“Love & Nudes is proud to produce in a woman-owned woman-lead facility,” says the website. “Our makers are paid a fair wage, working in a clean, bright studio and are mostly single moms.”

Taylor’s company is unique, and a first for Canada, as they deliver the first line of intimates for women of colour to compliment their unique skin tone. Love & Nudes launched in 2017.

On the show, the company, valued at $100,000, was revealed to have over 30,000 sales within the year.

Taylor’s initial offer for $25,000 in return for a 25 per cent stake in the business, was transformed into a deal for $40,000 for a 40 per cent stake by the episode’s end, with Dragon’s Manjit Minhas, Michele Romanow, and Lane Merrifield coming on board.

It’s a great feeling seeing local entrepreneurs from the city being recognized for not only their hard work, but their innovation and dedication to being ethically sound in practice.

Are you happy for Chantal’s success, Brampton?
