On Boxing Day in Hamliton here is what’s open and closed on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019.
FUN FACT: It is called “Boxing Day” because – starting in medieval Britain – servants had a day off and would receive a gift box on this day. It is a provincial stat holiday in Ontario, so let’s rejoice Hamilton.
Open:
- Limeridge Mall from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Eastgate Square from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Jackson Square from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Major grocery stores
- Big box stores
- Shoppers Drug Marts
- Movie Theatres
- Some Beer Stores. Check here.
Closed:
- LCBO
- Wine Rack
- Government offices
- Banks
- Libraries
- Most Community Centres (call ahead to be sure)
- City Hall
- Hamilton Farmers’ Market
- No mail delivery
- Garbage and recycling will be collected one day later
Transit:
The HSR will operate on a Saturday schedule
