Bowmanville country star Meghan Patrick earns Gold record and graces Grand Ole Opry stage

Rising Bowmanville country sensation Meghan Patrick fulfilled a lifelong dream April 11 with her debut at Nashville’s legendary Grand Ole Opry.
It was a big night for the 18-time CMA Ontario winner and back-to-back Canadian Country Music Awards Female Artist, as the Opry stage has been the launching pad for country artists for nearly a century.
“My Opry debut felt like an out of body experience, like an actual dream,” she said on social media of her special night. “It has been such a long journey to get here and it wasn’t an easy one. But stepping into that circle after fighting and clawing my way there against all odds, felt so much sweeter than if it had happened sooner and easier.”
“I’ve realized I don’t want easy. I want these moments to be hard-earned because of the way it feels when it finally happens. I could honestly write a book about what last night meant to me, and all the people who helped me get there, but I’ll just say it’s gonna be a hard moment to beat.”
Patrick, who was introduced on stage by Canadian country legend and mentor Terri Clark, also announced during the show her new EP, Greatest Show on Dirt, will be released May 5, with the title track as well as Red Roses & Red Flags unveiled to a capacity crown on the Grand Ole Opry stage.
Two songs – She’s No Good for Me and break-up anthem Ours, are also available now through Riser House Records.

Patrick also learned of another career milestone while on stage with the news that her song Wild As Me has been certified Gold in Canada, her first Gold record.
“Last night was one of the most amazing nights of my life for so many reasons,” she said. “More happy tears than I’ve ever cried in one day.”
“Thank you to the Opry and everyone who was there and helped make it the best night of my career.”
