Body discovered in eastern Ontario city harbour

A body has been recovered from the Moira River at Victoria Park in Belleville.

The body of the as-yet unidentified male victim was discovered just after nine a.m. after Belleville Police were called to the harbour following reports of a body in the water. Belleville Fire and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics also responded, and police confirmed the grim news just after noon.

Police cleared the scene later in the afternoon but no other details have been released and the investigation is ongoing.
