Burlington Public Library is hosting a free, virtual read-aloud session for adults celebrating Black and African-American activists.

BPL librarians will present excerpts from the writings of pioneering Black and African-American activists, including Frederick Douglass, W. E. B. Du Bois, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Audre Lorde and Fannie Lou Hamer.

In between the readings, there will be time for discussion. You can join the conversation or just come and listen.

The reading is taking place Monday, Feb. 13, from 2 to 3 p.m. in honour of Black History Month.

Registration closes 60 minutes before the program begins. To register, visit the library’s website.
