A rock throwing vandal continues to plague residents of Niagara Region with reports of more cars and even homes being damaged in Welland and Pelham.

Police say six vehicles had windows smashed in these communities that past few days, pushing the number above 30 incidents since the events began to unfold at the end of June.

According to reports, in most of the cases a car drives up to a home, a person gets out and then throws a rock or stones through a car window and sometimes through a house window. The driver then gets back in the suspect vehicle and speeds away.

The incidents usually occur over night and the description of the culprit is vague. Police say the person they are looking for is a white man, 6-foot with a thin build. He usually not wearing a shirt but has on dark pants, a baseball cap and face mask. He may be driving a dark Honda Civic.

Aside from the most recent incidents, vehicles in St. Catharines, Thorold, Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake have been targeted.

Anyone with information about these incidents are asked to contact NRPS detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1022200.
