Arrest made in rural Clarington shooting last June that injured four and sent three to hospital

A 20 year-old Oshawa man has been arrested in relation to a shooting in Newtonville last June that sent injured three men and sent two to hospital.

A fourth man walked into a local hospital with stab wounds while police were investigating the scene.

Auston Day is charged with accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offence. Warrants have been issued for Stephen Falconer, 20, of no fixed address and Trenton Bignell, 19, of Clarington in relation to this incident.

Durham Police were dispatched to an armed person call in the early afternoon of June 19 near Newtonville Road and Concession Road 4 in rural Clarington. Officers arrived on scene and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds and a third man who was grazed by a bullet. The first two victims were taken to a Toronto trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
