Army reserve unit comes to Uxbridge for exercises

Uxbridge residents may see military vehicles throughout the township this weekend as the 32nd Territorial Battalion Group (32 TBG) moves in for training exercises.
The TBG is setting up shop in three locations on March 19 and 20 to test their logistical and communicative capabilities. The main headquarters will be in the Markham Fairgrounds with two satellite stations in the Uxbridge Wooden Sticks Golf Club and the Tottenham Conservation Area.
The three command posts will coordinate with the 31 and 32 Signal Regiment from their respective bases in London, Ontario and Glasgow, Scotland.
Military vehicles may be visible on roads and highways in the Township as they drive between the three command posts to support the exercises. The vehicles will also be conducting a driver-wheeled course for the 32 Service Battalion.
No weapons or ammunition will be carried in the exercise.
32 TBG is is an Army Reserve Formation of the 4th Canadian Division headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. It’s made up of 3000 soldiers across 14 units based in Toronto, Aurora, Barrie, Brampton, Georgetown, Oakville, Mississauga, Brantford, Simcoe, St Catharines and CFB Borden.

The group features reconnaissance regiments, two field artillery regiments, a field engineer regiment, six infantry battalions, a service battalion, an intelligence company and a communication (signals) unit.
Over 1000 members have served around the world assisting in Cyprus, Cambodia, the Sudan and Sierra Leone and peace-support and combat operations of the Balkans and Afghanistan since the 1980s.
