Niyo Tyrese Hill, 25, of Brampton is considered armed and dangerous, according to Peel Regional Police.

Investigators are searching for an allegedly “armed and dangerous” gunman wanted for the shooting a woman in Brampton earlier this year.

The shooting happened when Peel Regional Police say a woman had “a violent interaction” with a man in the early morning hours of Jan. 25 in the area of Nexus Avenue and Fogal Road in Brampton.

Police said a 25-year-old male suspect robbed a female victim who suffered gunshot wounds in the altercation.

Reports suggest the shooting happened at the Park Inn by Radisson, and Peel Regional Police Const. Nikhil Chakravarthy confirmed to Insauga.com that the shooting was in the area of a hotel.

The shooter took off before police arrived on the scene and investigators say the woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said on Tuesday that the suspect has been identified as a 25-year-old Brampton man who is wanted for several offences including robbery with a firearm and assault with a weapon.

Police say Niyo Tyrese Hill, 25, of Brampton is wanted for assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, robbery with a firearm, discharge firearm with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm, breach of probation, and two counts of possession of weapon contrary to order.

Hill is considered armed and dangerous and Peel police say not to approach the man if he is spotted in the community.
