One person was sent to hospital after a driver hit a pole in Brampton — the third time this type of collision has happened in recent weeks.

The driver hit the pole on McLaughlin Road North at Red Maple Drive just before 10 p.m. Tuesday (March 14), Peel Regional Police said in a tweet. No other vehicles were involved.

One man was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, police said.

A power line was on the roadway and McLaughin Road north and southbound were closed until around 11 p.m.

This is the third incident of a driver hitting a pole in Brampton in recent weeks.

On Feb. 11, at approximately 5 p.m., a driver hit a pole, causing significant damage, in the area of Averill Road and Veterans Drive in Brampton.

And on Feb. 28,  Sandalwood Parkway was reduced to one lane in Brampton after a driver crashed into a pole.
