Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati, third from right, and Andrea Scott, President & CEO, Niagara Health Foundation, third from left, join Angelo Butera and members of his staff for the $2 million cheque donation to the South Niagara Hospital construction.

The donations towards the new South Niagara Hospital are quickly closing in on $30 million as corporate citizens continue to pour money into the coffers.

The latest is Angelo Butera’s Panoramic Properties which just gave the hospital foundation a cheque for $2 million yesterday (May 25).

Butera, a Niagara resident, said at the cheque slide that he believes “Niagara Health provided high quality care, and excellent patient experience to help me in my recovery to walking again.”

“I wanted to give back because I want to do what I can for this beautiful region, as it made me who I am today. Excellence in healthcare means no cracks to fall through.”

Andrea Scott, President and CEO of the Niagara Health Foundation, was thrilled with the donation.

“The support from Angelo Butera and his family will be a driver for a connected and community healthcare experience at the South Niagara Site,” said Scott.

“We are so thankful for their donation and are honoured to recognize Angelo and his family as Founding Donors of the ‘It’s Our Future’ campaign.”

In recognition of his sizeable donation, the main entrance seating area will be named The Angelo Butera Family Seating Area.
