Alleged nurse impersonator from Oshawa arrested

An Oshawa woman has been arrested after allegedly impersonating a nurse in an attempt to get hired without qualifications.
A woman had been applying for jobs as a registered practical nurse (RPN) using fake documents, Durham Regional Police allege.
On March 8, the Major Crime Fraud Unit arrested a woman. They claim the woman had fraudulent documents from “various governing bodies” she claimed were hers. However, the woman is not registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Further investigation revealed the woman had been employed as an RPN in at least four different senior’s nursing homes since 2021 throughout the Greater Toronto area.
Aaliyah-Elizabeth Sampat, 25 of Oshawa is charged with four counts of fraud, two counts of uttering a forged document, personation with intent and possession of identity information with an inference of fraud.
She was held in custody until a bail hearing. Police have released her picture to ensure there are no other victims who have yet to come forward.
