Ajax Downs welcomes new quarter horse season Wednesday

Horse racing is back in Ajax with the opening of the Ajax Downs quarter-horse season Wednesday.
Post time for the first race is at 1:30 p.m. in the first season of the track since the death of long time owner Norm Picov on February 18 at the age of 86.
There are seven races on Wednesday’s card, highlighted by race 5, which five features five nominated horses, including fan favourites Bodhi (8/5), Carneros (2/1) and Maryland Magic (5/2) over 110 yards.
Purse (including bonuses) will be $17,500.
