Finding a stolen vehicle and loaded handgun has led to charges for two males including a teen from Brampton, police say.
The arrests happened on Sunday after Waterloo Regional Police says officers on patrol located a stolen vehicle in the area of King Street North and Erb Street East in Waterloo.
Police say an investigation revealed the vehicle’s occupants had fled the area, and two suspects were located nearby.
A loaded firearm and ammunition were also seized , and police say a 19-year-old male from Brampton and a 25-year-old male from Toronto were arrested and charged with multiple offences.
A 19-year-old Brampton male, whose identity has not publicly been disclosed, and a 25-year-old male from Toronto have been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of firearm, and possession of automobile master key, among other offences.
Both of the accused were held for a bail hearing. The identity of the 19-year-old suspect cannot be released due to a general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
