Gun seized by police during Hamilton traffic stop, two teens facing charges

A Hamilton teen is facing multiple weapons charges following a traffic stop by local police.

Yesterday (Oct. 6) around 7 p.m., Hamilton Police conducted a traffic stop after observing a motor vehicle containing three occupants travelling the wrong direction on Mary St.

During the stop, it was learned the driver was failing to comply with release conditions stemming from another incident. The driver was placed under arrested and occupants asked to exit the vehicle.

While interacting with one of the occupants, police observed a handgun in the pants pocket of the occupant and they were arrested.

Saul Solano, 19, of Hamilton is charged with multiple firearm offences.

An unnamed male youth has been charged with failing to comply with a previous release order.
