A 46 year old St. Catharines man has been charged in connection with a September case that saw a woman need treatment in the hospital.

Niagara Police reported that in late September, they were called to an address in St. Catharines regarding a report of a sexual assault.

Once there, they found the victim, a woman in her 50s, and quickly shuttled her to the hospital for injuries. They quickly determined that the victim and suspect knew each other.

After investigation, they found the man on October 6 and arrested him.

Cameron Allan Kirkness, photo below, of St. Catharines was charged with sexual assault and assault.

Kirkness is being held for a video bail hearing today (October 7) at the courthouse in St. Catharines.

Police have reason to suspect there may be more victims.  Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact detectives by calling 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009450.
