92% of Niagara Region’s recent COVID-19 variant cases now being attributed to Delta

The Delta variant is strengthening its grip on Niagara, with the vast majority of new COVID-19 variant cases in the region being attributed to it.
According to public health data, 92% of cases over the last two weeks are either confirmed to be Delta (4%) or considered to likely be Delta (88%).
The rest are believed to be Alpha, Beta, or Gamma variants.
This brings the total number of Delta cases up to 74.
There were 19 new COVID-19 cases today (August 21), bring the total in the region to 154 active cases and 16,542 reported cases overall.
