Whether you’re after spicy and creamy dishes, succulent slow-cooked meats, a champion’s breakfast, or handcrafted desserts, the latest restaurant openings in Mississauga and Oakville have something for every craving.

Here are some of the eateries that have opened since January 2024.


Mehfill Indian Cuisine

Mehfill Indian Cuisine, a popular restaurant chain, opened a location in Oakville at 3420 Rebecca St Unit A.

The restaurant offers a variety of Indian dishes ranging from vegetarian to meat options.

Some popular menu items include Butter Chicken poutine, Pav Bhaji, Dahi Puri Golgappe, Tandoori Paneer Tikka, Soya Malai Chaap, and Chicken or Veggie Momos.

Main courses feature over ten chicken varieties including the favoured Chicken Tikka Masala and the slow-roasted Lamb Bhuna.

Guests can complement their meals with choices of naan or rice.

Dessert options include Rasmalai, Gulab Jamun, and Gajar Halwa, alongside a wide selection of beverages.

Mehfill also has locations in Etobicoke and Brampton.


LÀ LÁ Bakeshop

LÀ LÁ Bakeshop, a Toronto-based Vietnamese bakery celebrated for unique offerings such as salted egg cakes and durian croissants, opened a location in Mississauga inside of Oceans Fresh Food Market at 4557 Hurontario St.

The shop is known for its nostalgic, slightly less sweet desserts that feature distinctive ingredients like durian and pork floss.

Other menu items include Vietnamese coffee, tiramisu and taro sticky rice cakes.


Azkadenya

Azkadenya, located at 6111 Erin Mills Parkway at Britannia Road West in Meadowvale offers authentic Mediterranean cuisine.

The restaurant is known for its diverse shawarma options, but it also provides a variety of shareable dishes including Mezzas (appetizers), signature plates, wraps, salads, and desserts.


Ethereal Restaurant and Lounge

Ethereal Restaurant and Lounge, located at 3105 Winston Churchill Blvd in Unit 9, Mississauga,  opened on Valentine’s Day. Its dining experience blends luxury with elegance.

The menu boasts an array of appetizers, including Lahori fried fish and chicken pakora served with mint chutney. Street food staples like poutine and wings are also available in various flavours.

Signature dishes include the Ethereal Dynamite Bomb Chicken and Rose pasta with an option to add chicken tikka.

Smash burger enthusiasts might enjoy the Ethereal Charcoal Burger, which comes with sides such as fries, salad, onion rings, or sweet potato fries.

The drink selection includes sodas, smoothies, coffees, teas, and unique mocktails, while the dessert menu features delights like rose cheesecake and Rabri Falooda.


Craveables

Craveables, located at 5130 Dixie Rd. in Dixie Square Shopping Mall, north of Eglinton Avenue in Mississauga, is an all-day breakfast spot.

The menu features a range of breakfast items, including gourmet omelettes with veggie, meat, and smoked salmon options. There are also pancakes and waffles and a variety of “artisanal” eggs benedicts.

Other options include signature skillets with veggies, meat, and turkey bacon, as well as sides with potatoes and eggs.

The dessert menu offers cakes, ice cream, crepes and sundaes.

Diners can also enjoy espresso coffees, teas, smoothies and milkshakes.

Additionally, the restaurant is not only halal but also entirely pork-free.


British Pride Bakery

British Pride Bakery in Mississauga is located at 6956 Financial Dr. within a shopping complex and sells baked goods, meats, and groceries.

The store has 30 different meat pies to choose from, including sausage rolls and Scotch Eggs—boiled eggs wrapped in meat, coated in breadcrumbs, and either baked or deep-fried.

The bakery also has a cake counter that serves all kinds of British treats, including custard tarts, apple turnovers, chocolate eclairs, and Madeleine’s—a small sponge cake in the shape of a shell.

Freshly baked sweet and savoury scones are made daily. Some flavours include cranberry and white chocolate, raisin, cheddar cheese, and blueberry.

Mishree Cocktails and Cuisine

Mishree Cocktails and Cuisine, located at 825 Britannia Rd. W. in Heartland Town Centre, offers an extensive selection of over 100 dishes, featuring both South Asian and Middle Eastern flavours.

Some menu items include avocado and green apple gol gappe (hollow, fried wheat shell), lamb chops, chili garlic chicken momos and paneer tikka masala, alongside innovative dishes that are unique to Mishree including meat beliram, meen moilee and kukut ki barfi.

The bar offers 30 cocktails and zero-proof cocktails. Some “must-try” drinks include The King & Marry, Mishree G&T and Winter Sage.


The Purple Bakeshop

The Purple Bakeshop recently opened at Erin Mills Town Centre at 5100 Erin Mills Parkway.

The shop is located on the upper level in the mall.

Known for its eye-catching purple desserts, the bakery has a variety of pies, cakes, pastries, ube (purple yam) desserts and halo halo (a Filipino cold dessert containing crushed ice, evaporated milk, ube and other items).

They offer some traditional Filipino sweets such as kakanin, which are sweets made of glutinous rice and coconut milk.


Wingstop

Wingstop, known for its sauced and tossed wings and various comfort foods opened within Heartland Town Centre at 6045 Mavis Rd.

The restaurant features a diverse array of flavours, from the sweetness of its Hawaiian wings to the tanginess of its buffalo wings.

If you’re craving a subtle hint of heat, popular options include hickory-smoked BBQ, spicy Korean Q, and the limited-time-only maple sriracha.

For adventurous souls seeking an extra kick, there’s the ‘atomic’ option. According to the restaurant’s heat scale, it is the spiciest flavour, delivering a habanero pepper punch that promises to bring tears to your eyes.

Like its wings, the restaurant offers a variety of fries. Some options include cheese fries, buffalo ranch fries, and loaded voodoo fries which are fresh-cut potatoes served with cheese sauce, ranch, and signature Cajun seasoning.
