$50K in cocaine, other drugs seized in Ontario traffic stop lead to charges for Mississauga resident

A Mississauga resident is among three people charged after a traffic stop in northern Ontario this past weekend turned up crack cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, other drugs and handgun ammunition.
OPP said in a news release Monday afternoon police officers pulled over a vehicle on Highway 144, north of Sudbury and close to Timmins, shortly before 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Subsequent investigation by police turned up amounts of crack cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, marijuana and khat leaves with an estimated street value of $50,000.
A loaded Glock 9mm magazine was also seized by police.
Valarie Lynn, 31, of Mississauga, Frederick Jahrel, 32, of North York, and a 17-year-old youth, of Scarborough, are each charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, opioids, heroin and other drugs, and occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited device or ammunition.
Lynn also faces a charge of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 while Jahrel is additionally charged with possession of firearm/ammunition contrary to prohibition order.
They both remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was released after a bail hearing, police said.
