5 Fall Fashion Trends & Where to Find Them in Mississauga

Out with summer, in with fall! We at insauga believe that fall is the best season for fashion - big cozy scarves, cardigans and a comfy pair of jeans are the perfect staples for any fall looks. You can even warm up your summer trends by loading on the layers and re-wear them throughout the season. But while we do suggest re-working your summer trends, as fall is only three weeks away, we recommend hopping on board with these new trends so you can sport the hottest new looks from the runway.

5. Cozy Knits

Another one of our favourite fashion trends this fall are cozy knits, which will be perfect in October and November when the cooler weather starts coming around. Pair your oversized knit with a classic pair of leggings - we prefer the knit on leather look - with a pair of booties or blocked heels, an oversized shoulder bag and your Starbucks coffee and you'll be set for fall. You can find beautiful knits in Mississauga at Lascania Boutique

4. Pantsuits

When done right, pantsuits can be one of the sultriest outfits for a night out. Women's clothing inspired by menswear but with just the right amount of feminine touch will always be in style, so adding a classic pantsuit to your closet will be more of an investment than anything. If you're looking for somewhere with stylists that will help you find the perfect pantsuit to trim your waistline, Reflections of Aniko should be at the top of your list.

3. Fringe

Who doesn't love a little fringe? Transition into fall by taking a little bit of summer with you with your favourite boho-chic fringed piece.  Whether it's a fringed accessory, like a swing purse or shoulder bag, or tassels that shimmy from a statement top, fringe is definitely a fall go-to piece. Rebecca Minkoff is a ringer for fringed purses, but if you're looking for something a little more local, the Designer Swap pop up shop at Takla Alteraions & Embroidery at 1900 Dundas Street West Mississauga has tassled designer items for discounted prices.

2. Slip Dresses

Simplicity is key with this 90s fashion trend that's making its way into autumn. Recycle your summer slip dresses for fall by adding a cardigan and long necklace, and switch up your sandals for some fall ankle booties. You can turn up your femininity with a lacy number from Rag and Bone, or you can find adorable slips in Mississauga at Marla's fashions.

1. Block Heels

Whoever said fashion had to be uncomfortable was kicked to the curb - block heels are a comfy way to add some height, style and most importantly, elegance to your street style. Say goodbye to your skinny heels and dig deep in the back of your closet to find those retro-looking chunky heels and hit sidewalk with confidence. Feeling a little risky? Salvatore Feragamo currently has a pair of shoes that feature two of our favourite fall trends - fringe and block heels, or, you can head on over to Sienna Boutique in Mississauga to find a pair more suited for you.
