5 Best Canadian musical performances streaming live

One of the more difficult side effects of the pandemic is the impact it has had on live music events.
So far, Osheaga has already been cancelled, and Bluesfest, Veldt, and Boots and Hearts could all be next.
If you’re concerned that you’ll miss out on the summer’s best music festivals, there is some good news–many artists and organizations have come together to provide streaming performances.
These are the 5 best Canadian music live music streaming events.
Every Thursday at 7 p.m. Manitoba Music is bringing Canadians live musical performances streaming via Facebook.
Upcoming performances include Noah Derkson, Amber Epp, and Hellnback.

4: Canada’s Great Kitchen Party
In an effort to help support local restaurants, Canada’s Great Kitchen Party – Home Edition, will be virtually entertaining Canadians with live performances on April 22 and 29 that will be streamed on their Facebook page.
Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo, Ed Robertson of the Barenaked Ladies, Tom Cochrane, Barney Bentall, and Sam Roberts are all scheduled to perform, with more artists to be announced later.
The series is intended to help local restaurants that are struggling due to forced closures in response to the pandemic, and listeners are encourage to enjoy the music while eating their favourite dish from their favourite local restaurant.

3: Canada Together: In Concert
Starting April 20, this five-day event is being put together to help support Canada’s Food Bank and Unison Benevolent Fund’s COVID-19 efforts.
The event is being put together by ET Canada in partnership with the Canadian Country Music Association, it will feature some of the biggest names in country music, including Brett Kissel, Dallas Smith, Dean Brody, Gord Bamford, High Valley, Jade Eagleson, James Barker Band, Jess Moskaluke, Lindsay Ell, MacKenzie Porter, Meghan Patrick, The Reklaws, Tenille Townes, Tim Hicks and The Washboard Union.
Performances will air every night from April 20 to April 24 at 7:30 p.m. on ET Canada and Country 104.

Put together by Facebook Canada and the National Arts Centre (NAC), #CanadaPerforms is a short-term relief fund that provides Canadian artists with a platform to perform, as well as financial compensation for performances.
Performances are streamed on the NAC’s Facebook page, and there are several daily performances from Canadian artists.
Some upcoming performers are Kiran Ahluwalia, Carole Pope, Royal Wood, Elinor Frey, Tyler Shaw, and Julie Kim.

Organized by actor, singer, activist and philanthropist Tom Jackson, Almighty Voices is a musical variety series raising money for the Unison Benevolent Fund’s COVID-19 efforts.
The series will air 12 weekly episodes via YouTube and their website. Musical performances include Cynthia Dale, Susan Aglukark, Whitehorse, Alex & Tamen Jadad, Myles Goodwyn, Liona Boyd, Beverley Mahood, Sarah Slean, Measha Brueggergosman, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Terra Lightfoot, Micah Barnes, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Bif Naked, The Small Glories, and Barney & Dustin Bentall.
