$44 million lottery jackpot won in Canada

A massive lottery jackpot was just won in Canada.

One ticket won the $44 million gold ball jackpot in Wednesday night’s Lotto 6/49 draw.

The ticket was sold somewhere in Ontario.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation said it was purchased on OLG.ca.

“Because the ticket was bought online, the winner has already received an email letting them know they’ve won the $44 million prize,” the OLG said.

“Congratulations to the winner of this life-changing jackpot! We look forward to meeting Ontario’s next multimillionaire when they come forward.”

For the classic draw, no one matched six out of six numbers to win the $5 million jackpot, according to the OLG.

Also, no tickets got five out of six numbers plus the bonus to win the second-place prize of $161,284.10.

In the Encore draw, one ticket won $1 million.

Saturday’s Lotto 6/49 draw will have the classic jackpot at its fixed $5 million, as well as the gold ball jackpot at $10 million, or the guaranteed $1 million prize.
