The Town of Milton plans to invest nearly $30 million in building and maintaining critical infrastructure.

Projects being tackled include road reconstruction, bike lanes, sidewalk expansion, asphalt improvements, intersection modifications, urbanization (curbs and gutters), storm sewer rehabilitation and bridge maintenance.

“The Town of Milton is investing more than $29.88 million on our roads, bridges, and storm water system in 2024 to build and maintain infrastructure that makes Milton a connected community,” said Diana Jiona, the Town’s director of Infrastructure.

“We understand construction can be inconvenient. However, this essential work is a priority to provide safe and maintained critical infrastructure now and in the years to come.”

This year, residents can expect road closures and lane restrictions on main roads and side streets as the Town continues to evolve the transportation network.

“The Town recognizes the inconvenience these alternatives may pose, but are critical to advancing Milton’s long-term transportation needs,” said a spokesperson in a news release.

“Regular operational maintenance on roads and sidewalks are ongoing in our community to keep residents safe, enhance traffic safety infrastructure, and promote a walkable and bicycle-friendly community.”

During construction, residents are encouraged to plan travel in advance, consider alternate routes, follow signage and be patient while travelling in and around construction areas.

The Town communicates frequently about construction projects and the impact to the community. Residents can visit the Town’s website to:
