Whether you’re craving a sweet treat, a charcuterie spread or a meat-free meal, several new spots have recently popped up across the GTA.

Here are three restaurants that opened their doors in Brampton, Hamilton and Whitby in May:

Graze Craze

A U.S.-based charcuterie chain has officially opened its first Canadian location in Hamilton.

Graze Craze, located at 2-312 Grays Rd. in Stoney Creek, specializes in curated charcuterie boards, boxes and grazing spreads designed for meetings, celebrations and events.

The business offers a variety of fresh meats, cheeses, fruits and other accompaniments arranged in customizable displays.

Founded by U.S. Air Force veteran Kerry Sylvester in Florida in 2018, the company has expanded across the United States, Australia, France and now Canada.

The Stoney Creek location is owned and operated by longtime resident Danielle Parkes.

Vegholic

Vegholic recently opened at 320 Main St. N., in Brampton, bringing its entirely plant-based menu to the city.

Known for meat-free comfort food, the restaurant serves items such as the Buffalo Crispy Chick’n Burger, Prime Plant Burger and shawarma made with jackfruit and plant-based meat alternatives.

The menu also includes rice bowls, salad bowls, cauliflower bites and vegetable nuggets.

The restaurant expanded to Brampton from its downtown Toronto locations and says the city was a natural next step for the growing brand.

Nani’s Gelato

Nani’s Gelato opened its newest shop at 370 Taunton Rd. E., in Oshawa.

Inspired by family recipes and traditional homemade desserts, the company blends Asian, Indian and Italian influences in its handcrafted gelato made with fresh ingredients.

The menu features gelato bars, gelato sandwiches, milkshakes, soft serve, gelato cakes and gelato pies, along with flavours such as Pistachio, Saffron Cardamom Kulfi, Hazelnut Rocher, Mango Lychee Sorbetto and Salted Dark Chocolate Chip.

Founded by Parry, the business expanded from a custom gelato food truck in downtown Toronto into storefront locations and a production facility in Mississauga before launching franchise growth across Canada.

Nani’s Gelato now operates locations across Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.
